What happens when VICAMOS detects an intruder?

The event is checked against your security policy. Depending on the level it is observed, notified, warned by announcement, deterred with light, put forward for verification or escalated externally. The whole sequence is documented.

Does somebody still watch the cameras — and who decides on escalation?

Not for the routine case: the first response layer runs automatically. You set per site, zone and time of day what happens without confirmation and from which level a human has to sign off.

Can my team and I access the cameras ourselves?

Yes, live and recorded, in the browser and in the app, without filing a request with a service provider. You assign roles per site and per camera; every access is logged.

How long and where is footage stored?

For as long as you define per event type — then the software deletes it automatically. Operations and data storage are in Germany; the storage location and the data processing agreement are set out in the pilot contract.

Is this GDPR-compliant — and what about the works council?

VICAMOS provides the controls required: purpose binding, privacy zones, retention periods, roles, audit logs and automatic deletion. The legal assessment and any works-council agreement under BetrVG § 87 stay with you; we supply the technical documentation for both. Municipal premises are treated exactly like a private operator's.

What happens if the connection or a camera fails?

If the internet drops, the camera keeps detecting and responding with its own models and syncs afterwards. If a camera goes offline, that is itself an event: you are notified.

Does VICAMOS work with my security provider or alarm system?

Yes. A provider or monitoring centre is wired in as the receiver of an escalation level; alarm systems connect through integrations, as a trigger or a receiver.

Do I need a camera tower, and how fast can we start?

A tower only if the site requires one. Setup time depends on power, connectivity and camera count — which is why we start with a pilot site and measure it, rather than claiming a number.
